As a student who has chosen a longer, higher education, you should be prepared for an approach to teaching and learning that is somewhat different from what you have experienced at 6th form college, technical school or 6th form business college. At Kolding School of Design you are to a greater extent responsible for your own learning and education.
A design education is an independent study and will make high demands on your motivation, independence and ability to collaborate with others. A major part of the education is project based, and here you will either work alone or in collaboration with other students and / or a company to develop and design concepts or products. This method of working demands a lot of your ability to collaborate and work towards a deadline.

The intensity of work at Kolding School of Design is demanding, so you need to have a high level of incentive and drive. As a departure point, you may anticipate that your study as a whole is the equivalent of a full-time job, but in the preparation preceeding a project presentation or exam, the workload can be even higher.
The design education is completed with a graduation project. Here, you have the possibility to really unfold your design talent and work alone, together with other students and / or with a company. The completion of the graduation project and its examination is the final part of the five-year education and the project is then exhibited as part of the school’s Graduation Exhibition.
