BauBike

The BauBike is inspired by Bauhaus design. It is constructed around the geometric shape of the square and the equilateral triangle. With the use of the square tube and the untraditional shape, the Bau-Bike rethinks the perception of how a bike is supposed to look. The design is stripped down to clean lines and raw material. The open-end piece above the back wheel, offers the possibility to customize the function of the bike to what ever need you may have. The different accessories can be placed in the tube and can easily be changed if needed. The Bau-Bike is a bike for the modern urban society where adaptability is a necessity.

The duvet is inspired by the fish shape and associates with something soft, quiet and moving. "The idea arose because I was not happy with my classic duvet, and I was surprised to find that I couldn't find a more organic and functional design more appropriate for covering the body, says Christel. Her innovative duvet won the international design prize "Award by Vitra Belgium" at Interieur 08 Design Competition in Kortrijk, Belgium in 2008.

The furniture series "Cut-up" represents a new approach to home interiors, tactile bordering the sculptural. A lamp entangled in gillnets, stool and carpet planted with felt leaves. Playful colors and forms that challenge our senses and begs for presence.

Beyond is an urn for forest and woodland burial, and is constructed of PLA, a biodegradable material made from corn, and dissolves over time into the earth. Seeds, which will eventually turn into flowers on the grave, are integrated in the paper ribbon surrounding the urn – allowing the deceased to “come to life” again through nature’s process. The shape of the urn is inspired by the dandelion – more beautiful even in death than life - and seeks to impart a natural simplicity in shape and in material, a celebration of man’s relationships to nature.

The bending chair is an open space project created to interact and create situations between humans. The simple and minimalistic design has references into the Bauhaus movement and in the era of minimal art combined with personal experiences and a research into nature. Due to its simple lines and natural colors it is easy to be approached and used by all different age groups, like kids and middle aged and also elderly people. Made from wood and placed into parks and open spaces in cities it gives a time of relaxation and inner calmness. It’s a chair made to create a bending sitting situation and at the same time an internal game between the sitting persons. Made in 4-5 different dimensions it is able to interrelate not only between individuals but also between groups of people forming a platform of communication.
