I 2016 var Langkaer Gymnasium en af de mest omdiskuterede uddannelsesinstitutioner i Danmark pga. sin beslutning om at have fokus på etnicitet i klassesammensætningen. Kommunikationsdesigner Jane Kloster fra Designskolen Kolding er i sit kandidatprojekt gået all-in for at hjælpe til at forbedre dialog og gensidig respekt på gymnasiet. Posters i kantinen, flyers i nærområdet, workshops med elever, ansatte og ledere er alt sammen bragt i spil for at forbedre kulturen på gymnasiet ved at arbejde strategisk med at skabe relationer bl.a. gennem eksperimenter i elevernes kantine og studieområde. ”Jeg har gennem en række social design-metoder involveret elever, ansatte og ledere i processen for at kunne bidrage til en radikal ændring af skolens kommunikation, kultur og trivsel. Denne ændring kan måles over henholdsvis en seks og tolv måneders periode,” siger Jane Kloster
