The Modern Gentleman

In my bachelor project at Kolding School of Design, I was inspired by the way a gentleman is dressed and how he uses his clothes to signal a statement and status. I used the suit as inspiration for my silhouettes.

What would a gentleman of today look like? How would he dress? These were some of the questions I asked myself during my bachelor project.

I have used new and different materials in combination with more traditional and natural fabrics. My color scheme came from collages where I tried to visualize the modern gentleman.

The aim for my bachelor project was to create a modern menswear collection that had references to classical menswear design and combine this with sporty items. I tried to challenge the formal look of menswear and focus on the masculinity in the clothes.

The Ukrainian artist and stylist Sergei Sviatchenko was mentor and guidance on my bachelor project.
