Students

Design School Kolding welcomes approximately 40 students a year via various exchange programmes such as Erasmus, Nordplus, bilateral agreements between institutions and individual agreements.

Deadline for applications
You can start uploading your application from 1 April and deadline is 1 May for the autumn semester, which runs from 1 September to 31 December.

You can start uploading your application from 1 September and deadline is 1 October for the spring semester, which runs from 1 January to 30 June.

Applications can be made for exchange visits on the following lines of study: Fashion, Textiles, Industrial Design, Communication Design and Accessory Design. If you wish to apply for an exchange at our Master programs you also have to choose either People, Planet or Play. After the deadline, the applications are assessed by the committees on these lines of study and an answer is given by the International Office by e-mail within 1 month of the application deadline.

You start your application by clicking on the picture at the top of this page. Our online application system will then open for you. During your application process you will be asked under which category you apply for. Either Erasmus, Nordplus, Institutional or Individual Applicant. The four categories are described below.

Erasmus

Students studying at institutions in Europe with whom Design School Kolding has entered into an Erasmus agreement may apply for an exchange visit at the school.

Applications must include:

• A covering letter containing information about the desired field of study, semester, reasons for choosing Design School Kolding and the purpose of the exchange
• Portfolio
• CV
• Passport photo
• Copy of passport/ID
• Your latest Transcript of Records
• Completed Erasmus + Learning Agreement

Nordplus

Students studying at one of the cooperative institutions in the Cirrus network can apply for a student exchange under the Nordplus programme.

Applications must include:

• A covering letter containing information about the desired field of study, semester, reasons for choosing Design School Kolding and the purpose of the exchange
• Portfolio
• CV
• Passport photo
• Copy of passport/ID
• Your latest Transcript of Records

Bilateral agreements between institutions

Students studying at one of Design School Kolding’s international cooperation institutions outside Europe can apply for a student exchange under the programme for bilateral agreements between institutions.

Applications must include:

• A covering letter containing information about the desired field of study, semester, reasons for choosing Design School Kolding and the purpose of the exchange
• Portfolio

• Passport photo
• Copy of passport/ID
• Your latest Transcript of Records

Individual agreements

Students studying at an institution with whom Design School Kolding does not have an exchange agreement can apply for a guest visit. Individuals not enrolled as a student can also apply for a guest visit. If the student does not have EU nationality, a tuition fee of 5,350 Euro per semester will apply. This is payable immediately after confirmation of admission.

Design School Kolding does not offer scholarhips but you can apply through other channels. See links.

The Danish State Educational Support (SU)
The Danish State Educational Support (SU) is generally only awarded to Danish residents. As an international student you may, however, apply for equal status in so far as the state educational support is concerned. You may be granted equal status according to:

The Danish Government Scholarships
The Danish Government Scholarships under the Cultural Agreements are aimed at highly qualified exchange students wishing to immerse themselves in studies of the Danish language and culture or other fields of study related to Denmark.

Long-term scholarships of 5-12 months are offered to exchange students from higher education institutions in the following countries:
