More MAC in Brazil
In the heart of São Paulo is the MAC Museum, which houses the largest and most comprehensive collection of Western contemporary art. MAC is also affiliated with one of the most recognised universities in Brazil, The University of São Paulo, and recently relocated from the campus area to the city centre.Yet, no one seems to notice it and the number of visitors is decreasing.
- MAC is a large contemporary building with great works of art and lots of space. But people don’t notice it. They have no relationship with it and sometimes they literally don’t see it, one student says.
Therefore, ten groups of students from Kolding and São Paulo were given the task of developing location-specific solutions that will help MAC achieve a broader appeal. The students applied design methods to meet the challenge and succeeded in creating specific solutions, which they presented to the museum in short films.
