Peter Barker appointed expert judge

Head of Industrial Design expert judge in major Chinese design competition

When the 7th design competition ”Design for Sitting” will select its winners, Head of Industrial Design at Design School Kolding Peter Barker will be one of the international judges. The first selection has already taken place and the number of participants has been reduced from 2000 to 14.

Before joining Design School Kolding, Peter Barker has worked at several acknowledged schools around the world. Apart from teaching design he is also a trained industrial designer himself and has years of experience in the field.

Design competition
The design competition ”Design for Sitting” is an international exhibition and competition. The competition is organised and sponsored by the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing and is for Chinese students only. The purpose of the competition is to promote experimental design and explore the relationship between human behavior and design. The theme of this year’s competition is ”action sitting”. This year’s ”Design for Sitting” is part of a large-scale government project called ”Visual Beijing” that serves to develop Chinese design.
