Growth and innovation through design!
D2i is a network organisation consisting of several different partners: the D2i Secretariat, the University of Southern Denmark and Design School Kolding as well as a long list of commercial and public partners. D2i aims to increase the use of design in SMEs, thereby increasing their ability to innovate and competitiveness.
D2i provides companies and organisations with the knowledge and tools they need to enhance their innovation potential and develop better products, services and internal processes. Design School Kolding is behind the development-oriented and qualifying activities D2i offers:
- Design Consultations – one-day workshops for companies and organisations
- Design Introductions – 2-6 day tailored courses for businesses and organisations
- Design Updates – short afternoon courses for anyone interested in design and innovation
- Continuing education for designers – 2-3 day courses for professional designers
The focal point of Design School Kolding's activities D2i is design thinking and design methods. Studies show that companies that use design have a higher turnover than companies that do not use design. Design can demonstrably strengthen companies. But what is design? And design thinking? For many people, design is shape and form, aesthetics and functionality – clothes, coffee pots, furniture, etc. But design is also the process to get to the product. The actual process behind a product or service is also design. The design process includes a number of methods and tools that create new insights and help develop accurate, innovative solutions, which in turn can lead to the growth of a company.
