There is no required quotient for your qualifying exam. You must simply have passed.
If you will not be passing your qualifying examination until the summer, you should still apply at our website. However, you must state clearly that you are still studying, and upload proof of studies stating your expected graduation date from your current place of study, as well as a transcript of records (passed exams so far). As soon as possible you must send us your BA diploma, or a transcript of records stating that you have finished your degree. Design School Kolding must receive this on 1 August at the latest.
You may apply for exemption from the qualifying exam if special circumstances exist. The application must be in writing and be substantiated, and any relevant documentation must be enclosed. The application will be processed by the Secretariat. The deadline for submission of the exemption application is April 1 in the year you wish to be admitted and should be forwarded to firstname.lastname@example.org
The school can make special consideration for certain types of disabilities. Applications for special considerations must be attached to the admission application along with all necessary documentation. The school must receive the application by May 1 in the year you wish to be admitted.

If you have already completed a Danish Master’s degree you cannot be accepted into our MA in Design program because of the rule of double education. You can apply for an exemption from the double education rule if you meet one of the following conditions:
• If for health reasons cannot use your degree on the labor market because of health issues (documentation from a doctor is required).
• If your degree was completed at least six years before the start of studies 1 September 2017.
• If your degree has significantly changed in content, or the study program has been closed.
You cannot be exempt from this rule, on other grounds than the above-mentioned. If you want to seek exemption for the double education rule, you will need to attach your application for exemption and adequate documentary evidence, in one PDF file as enclosure to your online application.
If your MA degree is completed outside Denmark, you can be accepted into Design School Kolding if there are is available capacity.
International students who do not come from the Nordic countries or an English-speaking country must pass one of the international language tests approved by Design School Kolding. Exempted from the language test are students with a complete Bachelor’s degree acquired in English in Great Britain, Ireland, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, UK or the US
Please note that Design School Kolding does not accept language tests taken more than two years prior to applying for the Master's degree programme.
TOEFL test results of at least 560 (paper-based test) or 83 (internet-based test)
IELTS test with a minimum score of 6.5 points
Cambridge ESOL Examinations:
Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CEA)
"C1 level" obtained by examination from a CEFR-validated English language course.
Your acceptance into Design School Kolding is conditional on your passing one of the above mentioned tests.
The study programme is the programme you wish to follow. At Design School Kolding, you have six study programmes to choose from:
• Fashion Design
• Textile Design
• Industrial Design
• Communication Design
• Accessory Design
• Design for Play
Design School Kolding does not conduct admission interviews. Instead, you are asked to upload a short film as part of your application. However, if you want to apply for Design for Play, you can also expect to be invited for an admission interview. The interview can be conducted in person or via Skype video.
If you do not participate in your interview, you are considered to have forfeited your application.
Students who enter in Design School Kolding’s Master’s degree programme in 2017 must accept that the structure of the programme might change during the two year running of the education due to a coming redesign of the Master education from 2018/2019. This will not affect the quality of the programme and the degree title remains “Master of Arts in Design” with possible specialisations in Design for Play, Accessory Design, Communication Design, Fashion Design, Industrial Design and Textile Design. More information will follow at a later date.
Please make a two-minute video pitch to present yourself and why you want to pursue an MA degree in Design. For one of the two minutes you must speak directly into the camera.
The Master’s Degree Programme is free of charge for applicants from EU or EEA countries. For other applicants, the tuition fee amounts to €12,000 per study year (2017 figure) to be paid bi-annually.

The Danish State Educational Support (SU)
The Danish State Educational Support (SU) is generally only awarded to Danish residents. As an international student you may, however, apply for equal status in so far as the state educational support is concerned. You may be granted equal status according to:

If you are accepted, Design School Kolding will begin the Visa application process for you.
All young people, who are taking a government-approved education can apply for at student flat. There is a housing guarantee for all students who move to Kolding in order to study. Please visit the website Studentkolding.dk

Design School Kolding cannot help you find accommodation – this is your own responsibility.
All students at Design School Kolding have to pay a materials fee. According to Design School Kolding’s vision, the workshops are one of the most important elements. Design School Kolding has several workshops which all students have access to. The workshops supply various elements, which combined with the materials fee ensures, that the students have the materials necessary to ensure a high quality of the practical part of the education.
If you are staying in Denmark on a residence permit, i.e., if you are here for at least three months, you are automatically included in the Danish Health Insurance Scheme after you have a CPR number. This gives you the right to free medical treatment by a general practitioner and in public hospitals.
Please note that with a few exceptions, expatriates from outside the Nordic countries and the EU are not covered by the Danish Health Insurance Scheme until six weeks after the date of arrival in Denmark. Such persons are advised to take out personal health insurance to cover those first six weeks.
