Erasmus+ study visit
If you would like to spend one or two semesters at a European university, you can apply for an Erasmus+ spot and an Erasmus+ scholarship. The scholarship will be granted provided there are sufficient funds by the EU Commission.

Erasmus+ scholarship
The monthly scholarship for the Erasmus+ programme differentiates depending on the country. Because Denmark is a high-cost country, Danish students are never awarded maximum rate because the EU Commission has decided that students who travel from one high-cost country to another high-cost country can only receive medium rate. Maximum rate is reserved for students who travel from countries with medium or low living costs to a country with high living costs. For Danish students this means that there are only two rates available: the medium and the low-cost rate.

Medium rate – 300 Euro per month: Denmark, Ireland, France, Italy, Austria, Finland, Sweden, Great Britain, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland (for Switzerland, please read below)

Low-cost rate – 250 Euro per month Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Spain, Croatia, Cyprus, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, Iceland, Turkey, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Macedonia.

The scholarship rate depends on the funds that the school receives by the EU Commission that specific academic year. The above rates are for the academic year 2014-2015.

The Erasmus+ scholarship is a supplement to your SU (State education grant) and covers extra costs in relation to your study visit.

Switzerland
Switzerland does not participate in the Eramus+ programme in 2014-2015 and you will therefore not receive a scholarship from the school. Instead, you will receive a scholarship directly from the Swiss state. Your host university will inform you about the size of the scholarship and how it will be disbursed.

Requirements

• A new feature of the Erasmus+ programme is the option to go on more Erasmus visits (either Erasmus internship or Erasmus study visit). You can go for up to 12 months during your BA studies and up to 12 months during your MA studies. The visit must always last a minimum of three months (for study visits) and two months (for internships) and no more than 12 months. This means that you can divide your visits into short visits lasting e.g. three months. However, it also means that if you want to combine an Erasmus internship with an Erasmus study visit, both visits will be listed as part of the 12 month total that you are allowed per study level (BA and MA).
• You must be enrolled at Design School Kolding and you must earn credits during your visit. 
• Please be aware of the school’s own internal rules concerning exchange and internships.

Application and deadlines
Begin by contacting the International Office. They will guide you throughout the application process and you will receive personal assistance. Your application for exchange must be approved by your head of subject by filling out the Application Form. Fill it out and then have your head of subject sign it. The application form must be submitted to the International Office. Then the application procedures begin. Since the host institutions have different application procedures we cannot list the exact documents that you need to attach to your application. Some institutions have an online application procedure, others require a physical application. However, these are the typical documents that you will have to submit:

• ½-1 page letter of professional motivation
• CV
• Grade transcript
• Portfolio
• Erasmus+ Learning Agreement 
• Application form of the receiving institution

Your portfolio must be approved by the head of subject. The application is handed in to and forwarded by the International Office.

If you get the spot
the following happens:

• The International Office will pay 80% of your scholarship once you get accepted to the host university and we receive a copy of your
• Acceptance Form – you must ask your host institution to fill out the form, sign it and return it before you submit it to the International Office.
• Learning Agreement – filled and signed
• Student Grant Contract – filled and signed

In addition you must complete a language test.

After the visit
After you have completed your visit and your exams, you must hand in a transcript of record. You will find this at the bottom of the Learning Agreement document. Hand this in to the International Office and your points will be registered. Also ask your host institution to fill out the Confirmation Form. Please hand this in to the International Office. Then you complete another language test and an electronic evaluation. This concludes your visit and the rest of your Erasmus+ funds will be available to you.

Messages and information
All communication from the International Office will be sent to your e-mail address at school. Therefore you must make sure that you check your e-mails on a regular basis. If you decide to forward your school e-mails to a different address, you must make sure that our e-mails do not get caught in your spam filter. Receiving messages from the International Office and from the EU is your responsibility.
