Sustainability and materials

Industrial symbioses and the designer’s potential role(s) in connecting material resources with process paths. By PhD student Luca Alessandrini. Monday, 12 December at 15.00

On Monday 12 December 2022 from 15.00-16.30 (CET) Design School Kolding and Lifestyle and Design Cluster invite you to an open lecture by Luca Alessandrini. As PhD candidate, Luca Alessandrini will share the background for and insights from his ongoing project. With a point of departure in the concept ‘industrial symbioses’, he investigates the relationship between sustainability and materials to support circular resource streams and process paths.

In the lecture, Luca will elaborate on the overall methodology used in the project, bring in material-based case studies from all over the world, elaborate on Italian-based potential industrial symbioses based on existing waste resources and how to potentially be able to transfer this to other cultural and geographical areas.
