HVAD? En tekstil installation med fokus på global opvarmning.
HVORDAN? Ved at eksperimentere med tekstiler, lys, farver og udtryk har Thea Brandt Warning skabt en installation, der skal minde os om verdens klimakrise og om at passe på miljøet.
HVORFOR? Jordens varme er steget med ca. 0,8 C siden år 1900. Fortsætter stigningen, forudser FN’ klimapanel en varmeforøgelse 4,9 c i år 2100. ’Mindet om is’ sætter fokus på de smeltende poler, hvor designeren ønsker, at vi reflekterer over, hvad der sker, hvis isen forsvinder helt. Vil vi da blot stå tilbage med et minde om det, der var?
WHAT? A textile installation focusing of global warming.
HOW? By experimenting with textiles, light, colours and expressions Thea Brandt Warning has created an installation that reminds us of the global climate crisis and the need to protect the environment.
WHY? The mean global temperature has increased by approx. 0.8 °C since the year 1900. If this upsurge continues the UN Climate Panel predicts a heat rise of 4.9 °C by the year 2100. ‘Memory of Ice’ focuses on the polar ice melts, and the designer wants us to reflect on what happens if the ice disappears completely. Will we then be left with only the memory of what once was?
