Collection and Production
In our final project at second year, the theme was “production and collection”, meaning that the result was a commercial fashion collection, consisting of both basic, fashionable and artistic styles, and also a style that will be produced in Lithuania within a few months.
This meant having to deal with communicating our design through a style specification, putting everything on schedules and tables, and being very “professional” in our way of working. That’s not how we normally do it, but it’s good to learn that this is how you do it in real life.
In our group, consisting of Camilla Gravlund, Louise Permiin and myself, we designed a collection for a woman who wants to be feminine and stand by her gender, without being obvious about it. She won’t be judged based on her gender, but on her skills, so we wanted to implement both feminine and organic elements, along with something more robust, a kind of shield or armor.
It’s been a long process (6 weeks), but I think we are all pretty happy with the result. After the summer holiday, I’ll be a third year student. I seriously can’t believe how fast time has gone. Good thing I have the whole summer holiday to get ready for it.
See you next year!
