Designeren har skabt en taskekollektion med en blanding af udskæringer, stumper og deadstock-læder og med en patchwork-teknik kombineret med messingstykker inspireret af Kintsugi; en japansk kunstform som udspringer af tankegangen Wabi-sabi. Denne form for æstetik beskrives nogle gange som en skønhed, der er "defekt, midlertidig og ufuldstændig". De mindste stykker læder fra produktionen af taskerne blandes med harpiks for at skabe detaljerne/hardwaren. Projektet inviterer os til at fokusere vores energi på at reparere frem for at producere, på ufuldkommenheder frem for perfektion.
The designer has created a bag collection from a mix of offcuts, scraps, and deadstock leather using a patchwork technique combined with brass pieces inspired by Kintsugi; a Japanese artform from the mindset of Wabi-sabi. This type of aesthetics is sometimes described as a beauty that is "flawed, temporary and incomplete". The smallest pieces of leather from the production of the bags are mixed with resin to create the details/hardware. The project invites us to focus our energy on repairing rather than producing, on imperfections rather than perfection.
