Activist fashion without blood or screams
Why do we show more respect for pets and stuffed toys than for animals used for meat? Do they not deserve our empathy? Together with Asger Carlsen, Magnus Seide Hartman challenges the distinction between fashion and animal ethics in a collection of ‘skins’ from stuffed toys and other alternatives to leather. With this, he chooses to add an aesthetic and more inviting dimension to vegan activism, which can sometimes be quite fierce.
