Mode mod sorg / Fashion as a tool to cope with grief by XiBao Yeh

I dette projekt bruges mode som et redskab til at håndtere sorg. Med sin tværdisciplinære baggrund i mode og leg udforsker designeren, hvordan kroppen interagerer med stof, og hvordan beklædning påvirker vores følelser. Når vi føler skam, sorg eller kedsomhed bærer vi os sjældent med rank ryg. Projektet undersøger, hvordan mode kan udnytte denne forbindelse mellem kropsholdning og følelsesliv til at transformere følelser. Kan designet af et stykke beklædning påvirke bæreren til at få følelsesmæssig indsigt og håndtere sorg?

In this project, fashion is used as a tool to cope with grief. With an interdisciplinary background in both fashion and play, the designer explores how the body interacts with fabric and how garments affect emotions. When we experience shame, sadness, or boredom we rarely carry ourselves in erect posture. This project explores how this link between body posture and emotions might be used in fashion as an aid in transforming emotions. Can the shape of a garment affect the wearer to proximate awareness and cope with mourning?
