Det kan være en utryg verden for et barn at træde ind på et hospital - især hvis en operation venter forude. Derfor har Christina Sapounidou designet et legende og hjemligt rum til brug på hospitaler, der skal hjælpe med at mindske angst hos børn, inden de skal på operationsbordet. Rummets hjemlige atmosfære giver barnet mulighed for at føle sig mere tryg, hvilket mindsker ubehaget og samtidigt styrker den efterfølgende heling.

Safe space
A hospital setting may seem like an unsettling and scary world for a child to enter – especially a surgical procedure awaits. To address this, Christina Sapounidou designed a homely, playful space for use in hospitals with the goal of reducing anxiety in children before they go on the operating table. The homely atmosphere of the space helps put the child at ease, which reduces the level of discomfort and promotes the child’s recovery.
