Management of Design Processes in Multicultural Environment
By PhD Fellow Nevena Jensen
The PhD is a part of the larger joint project called Corporate Design & Cultural Diversity, which is the collaboration between Kolding School of Design and Aarhus Business School. In more detail, the focus of this particular PhD study is to understand the virtual team collaboration as integral part of design processes, where virtual teams are distributed across heterogeneous cultures. This research investigates issues connected with global virtual team management in multicultural environment and their impact on co-located teams in each country and design process in general. From this understanding, results are expected to support design practitioners and design managers in crossing collaboration barriers such as time zone and geographic distances, multicultural, functional and organisational diversity, use of information and communication technologies.
