Preparations for the Master

In a month I will begin my final Master project. This requires a lot of preparation - on several levels. One of them is scholarships applications, because it can be very expensive to do a Master project, even though you may be lucky to receive a sponsorship.

As a start, I have borrowed the book “Legathåndbogen 2014“. These days I have started to read it from cover to cover to find the few scholarships that fit perfectly in my field.

In my latest project I have been working on visualizing an idea for a sensory textile and illustrative installation. The theme is how to visualize memories and gain the feeling of being in a memory process. Some of the keywords I have used to gain this feeling are:

  • Fragmented
  • Near and far
  • Clear and unclear.

The inspiration for the look is my personal memories with my grandmother's porcelain polar bear (which she gave me this summer). It is made by Ditmar Urbach from the former Czechoslovakia.

I'd like to work more with the idea of creating spatial experiences in my Master project. This will require print and materials in large sizes and quantities (=expensive!). Therefore, it is essential that I apply for scholarships.
Wish me luck!
