Did you know that in the future, your clothes will have a digital passport in the form of a QR code, accompanying them all the way from the manufacturer to your home? The Digital Product Passport (DPP) will contain a wealth of information about materials and the product's lifecycle, primarily for use by the various stakeholders in the supply chain. But what if the passport could also carry a more personal story with it? The designer is exploring this idea, believing that a stronger emotional connection to clothing will prolong our usage and thus enhance the sustainability of garments.
