New things ahead!
The inhouse design team is working hard on the interior of the building. Lots of details go into this. From the wayfinding to the choice of textiles, colours, and other materials for the overall atmosphere.
Sustainability and recycling are important aspects in the reconstruction. Not only are we expanding our current recycling categories, but the steel plates from the former auditorium walls will also be reused to create this new waste handling system. This is not only more sustainable, it also reduces the production costs from 160,000 DKK to 20,000 DKK (excluding man hours). Masterminds and builders behind this idea are our property service technicians Tommy Freudendal and Simon Tesfamariam Araya.
The construction is going according to schedule, and we move back to our old new building June - August, thanks to the amazing project management of Mette Frandsen and Lone Dalsgaard. This is in time to welcome our new first-years bachelor’s and master’s students! To stimulate even more cross-contamination between study disciplines, the workshops will be placed closer together in the new building, causing for collaboration and a strengthening of our overall school community.
We’re excited to welcome the new first-year students to this close-knit community, not only in person but also online. Interested in cool things happening outside of class?
