Meet tomorrow's designers at 3daysofdesign

20 freshly baked design projects and a unique collaborative work. Design School Kolding exhibits again at the international design festival 3daysofdesign

When 3daysofdesign takes place from 12th to 14th June, 2024 in Copenhagen, Design School Kolding will participate as part of the prominent exhibition platform DDcated, located in the impressive Kongernes Lapidarium (the Kings' Lapidarium). This unique museum, which only opens its doors to the public on special occasions, houses an extensive collection of 300 historical plaster casts.

With the exam season in full swing, we invite you to an exclusive preview of 20 of this year's over 100 bachelor's and master's projects. These projects explore materials, forms of interaction, production methods, and recycling processes, highlighting the new designers' dedication to developing design solutions that are not only functional and beautiful but also contribute positively to our environment and society.

For example, Eleonora Falqui and Alessandro Tomas Fabiani have created engaging, educational tools that address pickiness and ease the mental pressure on parents. And NOTA Kitchen, designed by Marco Sidoli, offers a new understanding of the kitchen by redefining it within the framework of universal design and industrial innovation, adapted to changing lifestyle demands.

Pitch with the audience and professional jury
On Wednesday 12th June from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, the annual Design Pitch Event will be held in the courtyard in front of the King's Lapidarium. Here, eight of the exhibitors will have the chance to pitch their projects in front of a jury and an audience. The jury consists of prominent figures from the design world who will provide feedback and select a winner. In addition to honor and recognition, the winner will receive a prize of DKK 10,000.

The Kolding chairs – a collaborative work
At 3daysofdesign, we also present the Kolding chairs, a unique collaborative project between the Design School Kolding and the local community. With input from the citizens of Kolding Municipality, we have created three chairs that are more than just seats. The chairs celebrate our industrial heritage, the daily encounters that bind us together and the beauty of our surroundings. The project shows that design is about more than aesthetics – it's about community and creative collaboration.
