Text
Syrian refugees that have obtained asylum in Denmark are often passive and isolated in relation to their own integration, and that is a pity; for there are numerous opportunities and initiatives around the country that for some reason are not very visible. In their graduation project communication designers Katarzyna Piorska, who has Polish roots, and Lilas Ozanne, who is from France, have developed a platform that sheds light on existing, voluntary ’bottom up’ initiatives and also inspires new programmes.
The platform can be used by ordinary Danes who want to help but don’t know how, and by the Syrian refugees who are looking for help to get closer to the Danish society. Finally NGOs can also use the platform. The two students have been able to use their own international background as a positive introduction to talking about integration and cultural differences in the many interviews they conducted with refugees that have formed the basis for the development of the final material.
