The Renew Project

The report sums up one year of project work completed in 2017/18. The focus of the project has been to identify and communicate how services - for instance repairs, storage, re-design or resale - can create value for the fur industry in particular and for the fashion industry in general.

The report begins by placing itself within the technical cycles of the so-called circular economy - the cycles that are stimulated by principles of design for longevity. That means how we are able to keep materials in use for as long as possible by working with user habits and by introducing new business models.

Based on field work among Danish and Chinese retailers, workshops and Danish service shops, the project has created new formats for teaching and for user-involving service concepts by employing the principles of the so-called circular economy.

The Re-New Project by Else Skjold, Frederik Larsen, Ulla Ræbild and Solveig Søndergaard.
The report is published as part of the partnership agreement between Kopenhagen Fur and Design School Kolding.
