Exchange Possibilities in the academic year 2026/2027
Applications are accepted for exchange studies in the following study programmes: Accessory Design, Fashion Design, Textile Design, Communication Design and Industrial Design. You can find a list of courses below.
Selection principles
Our students are the most important resource we have, and we consider exchange students to be “our” students while they are studying with us. Welcoming exchange students to our institution is therefore very important to us.
To provide the best possible learning experience for our exchange students, we have a selection process in which we aim to match each student’s wishes and skills with the courses we offer.
At Kolding School of Design, a student is not simply another student, but an individual we spend many days and hours with. As a small institution, we therefore have to be careful in our selection process and cannot guarantee places for all students applying from our partner institutions. Both local and exchange students are allocated a place and a desk at the school, and our capacity is limited. We therefore recommend that students consider alternative options in case we are unable to offer them a place.
Our selection is based on:
- How well the student’s educational wishes match the courses we offer.
- The student’s level of skills, as we need to ensure that they will benefit from our programmes.
- The number of available places, as our capacity is limited. This may vary depending on the number of local students already enrolled in the class.
Nomination
The nomination must be submitted by the institutional or departmental coordinator at the home institution, or by a member of staff from the International Office or faculty.
Only nominations received within the deadline will be accepted. The nomination deadline is 1 October. Nominations should be sent to: af@dskd.dk
Application process
Our online application system opens at the beginning of September and closes on 1 October.
During the application process, you will be asked which category you are applying under: Erasmus, Nordplus, Institutional or Individual Applicant. The four categories are described below.
Application deadline
The application deadline is 1 October 2026. You can start uploading your application at the beginning of September.
After the deadline, applications will be assessed by committees from the relevant study programmes according to the selection principles outlined above. Applicants will receive a response from the International Office by email within one month of the application deadline.
