The Grand Old Man of Form and Colour Appointed Honarary Professor
- Through a lifetime, based on his own artistic practice, Jannik Seidelin has inspired design students and contributed to their basic artistic education. He has taught and supervised students from all design disciplines in the theories of form and colour; and he has insisted on developing and maturing the individual's perception of form and colour in such a way that the student has been able to evoke his or her own form language. From a theoretical foundation he has developed concrete and practical experiments of what happens when light, colours and material meet. These studies have formed the basis for a unique didactics and exceptional teaching material. Through an almost lifelong and tireless effort, Jannik Seidelin has time and time again influenced the designers of the future and has thereby had a decisive impact on Danish Design.
These are the words of Mathilde Aggebo, dean of the Royal Academy, as well as Richard Herriott and Mette Mikkelsen, Associate Professor and Honorary Professor, respectively, at Design School Kolding who have assessed and nominated Jannik Seidelin for the adjunct professorship.
The event will take place on Tuesday 23 November at 15 – 16.30.
On the same occasion, Jannik will open a retrospective exhibition of those of his works that have played a special role in his many years of work as a teacher at Design School Kolding.
Subsequently, a reception will be held.
Everyone is welcome.
