‘Gelting’, glasses
BA Course: ‘Function, Form and Aesthetics’ – ‘Gelting’, glasses
Accessory Design – Bachelor, 1st Year

Background
This course introduces students to the theories and methods of designing with others’ needs in mind. It offers a deeper understanding of how sensory, emotional, functional and cognitive factors shape the relationship between people and design. During the course, students develop a prototype tailored to one user’s specific needs and preferences.
Aksel Thygesen has created a glasses prototype inspired by a particular user’s taste in style and materials – and by the elastic cord found inside collapsible tent poles. The design allows the glasses to fold in a similarly flexible way. The process included interviews and ongoing dialogue with the user, hands-on modelling, and digital sketching.
Collaboration:
The course was developed in partnership with LINDBERG.
