Graduation record
Design School Kolding and the Museum at Koldinghus are pleased. For the second year in a row a record-breaking number of visitors have been to see the Graduation Exhibition. More than 25,000 people have visited the exhibition this year. This means around 100 more than the previous year, which was also a record-breaking year with 5000 more visitors than in 2013.
The exhibition was organised in a close collaboration between Koldinghus and Design School Kolding:
-This year’s exhibition is incredibly exciting. With the new designers, we’ve managed to make an impressive presentation of their projects while also allowing the visitors a glimpse of their workshops. All of the designers have a small space inside the exhibition where they present their process along with the tools and materials they have used to produce their products or their concepts. The sketches, notebooks, photos, models, material samples, etc. shed a new light on the ideas behind the designers’ projects, says Thomas C. Thulstrup, Director of Koldinghus.
The exhibition displays graduation projects in fashion, textiles, industrial design and communication design. There are textiles for theatre costumes, fur circles, beach shoes for city people, a family-friendly prison visiting room, flexible office spaces, colour coded healthy supermarket foods, activated coal which absorbs harmful substances in the fruit bowl, and much much more.
