Graduation 2014

In keeping with tradition there was not an empty seat when family, friends and graduates celebrated a ceremonious morning at Design School Kolding.

All seats were taken when 78 fully fledged designers received their diplomas and scholarships in the canteen at Design School Kolding. The main speaker Rector Elsebeth Gerner Nielsen gave the new designers a few friendly pieces of advise:

- Nurture your network. Networking is the way to get a job, but networkers are also who keep you alive professionally and personally. Let go of the notion of the designer being the lonely wolf struggling alone against all others and against all odds.

- Never take the light away from another human being. Remember that everyone has a desire to shine. To unfold. To be special. The more we support that desire in each other, the better we will feel. This is achieved through respect and recognition. The worst thing you can do is take away the light of another human being.

The morning was rounded off with a speech by graduating designer Louise Egebro, thank you flowers to a number of the school’s employees and of course, the awarding of scholarships.

Teknisk Landsforbund awarded two scholarships of DKK 2,500 to Ditte Gjøde and Solveig Stilling. HK’s travel scholarship of DKK 10,000 was awarded to Sidsel Skov Kragsnæs. The travel scholarship for DKK 10,000 from Sydbank went to Louise Egebro. Gudrun & Erik Kauffeldt awarded 10 scholarships of DKK 10,000 to Patrick Johansen, Christian Leth, Svetlana Aksjonova, Camilla Skøtt Christiansen, Sidsel Søgaard Sørensen, Niels Christian Konrad Nielsen, Nanna Rosalia Sigaard, Kristian Lykke Larsen, Anna Nydam Sørensen and Kathrine Gram Hvejsel. And finally, Danmarks Nationalbanks’s scholarship of 25,000 went to Lyuba Tsancheva Halacheva.
