Culture Festival on the loom

Colourful textile shreds on a gigantic loom is one of seven installations that you can experience and interact with when Design School Kolding's international exhibition concept The Tube opens on Svietorv in Kolding on 22 August.
By Katrine Worsøe

In one container hundreds of live bees fly inside a glass case drawn to the flower of love. In another container you are dazzled by a seabed of fur. Community is the inspiration point of third container where Textile Designer Rosa Tolnov Clausen invites you to help produce a large culture festival rug. Rosa has but up a gigantic loom and using specially made textile shreds, you can weave your own personal story into the rug.

The Tube consists of seven specially designed containers each containing a new product, an installation or an experience which holds an artistic dimension and a commercial potential. The Tube is a collaboration between young designers from Design School Kolding and leading Danish companies. The exhibition was originally made for the world's largest design fair in Milan where it was displayed in April.

The exhibition is open Friday from 13.00-22.00, Saturday and Sunday from 11.00-15.00 and Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 13.00-17.00.
