Kolding Fashion programme among the best in the world
The Business of Fashion ranking is based on surveys among more than 10,000 students and graduates in 17 countries and focuses on global influence, learning experiences and the long-term value provided by the education. Design School Kolding is the only Danish school on the list.
”We are proud to be in the company of such great international schools, and you could say that our presence on the list is in line with our vision, says Nadine Möllenkamp, head of Fashion at Design School Kolding. She continues:
”We work to achieve international impact in various ways. For instance, we dedicate a great deal of our work and research to finding sustainable solutions for the design and textile industry that match an international level. Our vision is to be an international talent workshop that cultivates Danish Design. This means that our programmes honour the values that Danish Design descend from, like democracy and equality, and we teach our students methods like user involvement and co-creation – all with a view to create meaningful and aesthetic solutions in an international context. For instance, this entails that apart from international exchange programmes, we offer students a chance to collaborate with industry and real cases throughout their training and not just during internships - also with our strategic collaboration partner Ecco and Kopenhagen Fur".
Representatives from industry, teachers and researchers in higher education and HR professionals were interviewed for the evaluation. In addition, the finalists of nine prestigious international fashion contests were evaluated. Students were asked about their satisfaction with the teaching and the available resources, and their working life skills were assessed e.g. on the basis of their satisfaction with alumni activities and employment opportunities.
The Business of Fashion ranked Central Saint Martins first in both Bachelor's and Master's programmes.
