When teaching and research go hand in hand

Design School Kolding hosts research seminar about the nexus between teaching and research
By Marianne Baggesen Hilger

The seminar will be held on Monday 7 December. It will gather researchers from Aarhus School of Architecture, The Royal Danish Design School, and Design School Kolding and is an opportunity for them to share knowledge and experiences within the theme 'research-based teaching and teaching as a driver for research'.

Head of Research at Design School Kolding, Irene Alma Lønne, says:

- The school’s researchers are committed to and engaged in our teaching activities, which are associated with just as much prestige as research. To have a culture that integrates research and teaching to this degree is quite unique. Everyone is eager to put knowledge into play to educate the best designers of the future. The researchers are dedicated to the development of new teaching methods and to involving the students in research matters. In the most successful cases, the teaching feeds directly into the researchers’ knowledge production.

Keynote speaker at the seminar will be Professor Michael Tovey, Reader in Design Pedagogy from Coventry University.
