We are Weaving
In collaboration with Art and Design Museum Trapholt, textile designers Levon Kafafian from USA and Rosa Tolnov Clausen, trained at Design School Kolding, will be hosting a series of summer weaving workshops in six selected cities: Kolding, Vejen, Grindsted, Vejle, Fredericia and Haderslev.
The workshops are designed as a one-week programmes for young people ages 15-25 who meet every afternoon from 13-16. However, everyone is welcome regardless of age!
"We explore handweaving from the fundamentals to experimental techniques and alternative materials. The full course blends discussion about sustainability in textiles and using creative writing as a way to design for future worlds. We'll take a look at how textiles have been used to tell stories about identity, history, belonging and the environment around us. Participants will have the chance to envision possible futures and weave cloth that emerges from those stories of future worlds," says Levon Kafafian.
