LET THEM EAT CAKE
Background
LET THEM EAT CAKE draws on the world of gastronomy to reimagine historical banquets through a five-course menu of silhouettes.
LET THEM EAT CAKE
Each course references a dinner that, in its time, functioned as a performative act of power. The project incorporates self-fabricated biomaterials and situates itself within the tension between exclusivity and inclusivity. The intended recipient of LET THEM EAT CAKE is the viewer — invited to engage with the work through curiosity, contemplation, amusement, or discomfort.
