About the Project
In this project, we have focused on exploring how a traditional yet nearly forgotten craft can be used in a more modern context, specifically in the form of a lamp. We have concentrated on the material of cotton paper and delved deeply into its history, qualities, and potential. By using the knowledge gained through our paper experiments, we aim to design a lamp that is not only visually appealing and functional but also rooted in a meaningful material narrative. Additionally, we want to emphasize sustainable design principles such as material reuse, flat-packing, recycling, and mindful production.
