‘Model and Material’ – Salad servers

In this hands-on course, students explore form and materials through experiments in the Fine Craft Studio.
Embla Liv Beckers’ brass servers, ‘Spines’ are irregular – detailed – natural. Inspired by the shapes of various spines.
Johanne Rose’s brass design is dynamic – playful – distinct. Visually striking yet light in the hand.
Rasmus Vejlgaard Skeem’s salad servers in mahogany and brass are geometric – asymmetrical – textural. There is no perfect axis of symmetry, but sharp folds in the wood and metal.
Annika Kjær Larsen’s brass pieces, ‘Helix’ are light – elegant – refined. Light to hold, with a curved handle and brushed surface.
Sidsel Hester Schmidt’s brass servers are non-functional – uncomfortable – harsh. Sharp spikes make them deliberately unpleasant to use.
Alberte Bremland Sørensen’s horn and brass design is intuitive – tactile – empathetic. Soft shapes with Braille-inspired rivets, designed for blind users.
