A co-design celebrity!

Today, Design School Kolding is welcoming a special guest. Elizabeth B.-N. Sanders, Associate Professor and Ph.D. at the Ohio State University, gave a lecture about her design and research work.
By Marianne Baggesen Hilger

This morning Sanders talked to students and staff about her previous work in co-design, her current work teaching co-design to students and how she sees AI as a co-design tool in the future. "We can now invite everyday people to take part in the imagination and anticipation of future systems. This is not about situations where researchers and designers create future scenarios, environments, or systems for others to experience. In the new co-design spaces everyone can collaboratively imagine, create, and then enact their own personal and collective futures.”

Sanders is known for groundbreaking research in the Co-design field. Some of her publications are:
- Co-creation and the new landscapes of design. Sanders & Stappers, PJ (2008)
- From user-centered to participatory design approaches. Sanders (2002)
- Probes, toolkits and prototypes: three approaches to making in codesigning. Sanders, Stappers, PJ (2014)

Many of the tools, techniques and methods developed by Sanders are being taught to the students at Design School Kolding.

Design School Kolding would like to thank Sanders for sparking inspiration.
