DO Something – design that makes a difference
From 28 June to 1 July, we open our doors to celebrate creativity, curiosity, and courage. More than 80 graduating students – both BA and MA – present their visions of how design can be a driving force in a turbulent world. These are experiments, solutions, and ideas that move and challenge – and that show how design can shape the future with care, insight, and boldness.
Discover stage costumes made from recycled materials, where artistic identity meets sustainability. Try a dialogue tool that helps educators talk about sexuality and wellbeing with people with disabilities. See how children’s experience of cemeteries can be transformed through play, comfort, and thoughtful design.
Explore curtains that bring calm and dreaminess to an open-plan office through colour and sensory textiles. Experience how avant-garde fashion blends sculptural forms with comfort, function, and durability through digital tools and material experiments.
Meet the small but significant designs – like a pendant lamp that shifts with the mood around the dinner table, or a new eyewear hinge combining function and aesthetics. Dive into typography that doesn’t just communicate, but creates a sense of time, place, and presence.
All that – and much more…
Free entry. The exhibition is open to everyone – design lovers, partners, and curious visitors alike. Special events will take place throughout the four days. Follow us on our website and social media for updates.
Open daily from 11:00 to 16:00, 28 June – 1 July 2025
Come and see how design can make a difference – and meet the ones who are making it happen!

Freya Brinkmann, a BA graduate in Industrial Design, has explored how a pendant lamp can create dynamic lighting through the mechanical movement of its shades. Inspired by the tulip in both shape and colour, the design also proudly highlights its mechanical components. In collaboration with TRITECH, Louis Poulsen, and Mirit Glas.

Modular stage costumes for rental, created from recycled materials. The collection, titled Forest Fairies, is designed by Helena Troelsen, a graduate from Design for Planet with a focus on Fashion. In collaboration with the Royal Danish Theatre’s tailoring department and the costume team from Dancing with the Stars.

Accessory designer Aksel Thygesen has explored how to develop a new hinge for an eyewear collection. In collaboration with LINDBERG.
Ellen Van Meerbeek, a designer specialising in Design for Play and Industrial Design, has collaborated with Horsens Sund By on a child-friendly backpack for cemetery visits. Developed together with children, the backpack helps make visits to a grave feel safe and playful, with inspiration cards and a blanket that creates a calm, comforting space.

Can a typeface evoke birdsong, gentle waves, timber-framed houses in pastel shades, and time for quiet reflection? Communication designer Laura Henriksen set out to create a typeface that enhances the experience of walking the Øhavsstien trail in South Funen. In collaboration with Nicolaj Bak, Overtone.

Textile designer Emma Kjær has explored how curtains can create a calm and dreamy atmosphere in an open-plan office at Kolding Library. The study is based on literature, interviews, and sensory experiences. In collaboration with Kolding Library and Kjellerup Væveri.

Using digital tools like CLO 3D and Gravity Sketch alongside material experiments, this project explores how sculptural and avant-garde fashion can blend visual impact with comfort, function, and durability. Designed by Elena Holban, Fashion Designer. In collaboration with Liselotte Hornstrup.

Mudita Agarwal, MA in Design for People with a focus on Communication Design, has created an engaging and educational dialogue tool to support educators working with people with disabilities in facilitating holistic conversations about sex and sexuality. In collaboration with Henrik Larsen and Laura Kornholt, Respex I/S.
