From Construction Waste to Ceramic Material: Material Development with Recycled Bricks and 3D Printing
Fired, Crushed – Reimagined
Fired clay is often considered the end of a material’s life. By transforming crushed brick from the construction industry into a new clay body, I have explored the possibility of reintroducing the material into new ceramic products. By combining material development and 3D printing, it becomes possible to work with a higher proportion of recycled material than traditional ceramic processes typically allow.
