Fjord Language – Artificial Reefs as a Bridge to Marine Identity

This project explores how industrial design can strengthen the relationship between people and nature through participatory methods, material experimentation, and artificial reefs. The thesis combines workshops, surveys, and 3D printing with clay to develop a modular reef system that supports marine restoration while engaging citizens through a symbolic “fjord language.” The structures connect local culture and identity with environmental regeneration and the underwater landscape.
