Background
Our hair is an expression of who we are. No matter if it is short, long, thick, fine, red or brown – our hair is part of our identity. At Kolding District Independent Boarding School a new trend has emerged: the young teens cut, shave and play with each other’s hair in a game of dare.
Can I play with your hair?
Mairi-Claire MacDonald pushes the envelope on how to take this game further and incorporate it in textile design by facilitating free play scenarios with designed, tactile objects. This creates an opportunity to expand on how play can be investigated to aid the development of design solutions.
