- Fashion is Denmark’s fourth largest exporting industry. It generates jobs and growth. And consumers spend an increasing amount of money on creative products. This is a trend that will continue. And Denmark must have a share in this growth.

With these words the Minister of Higher Education and Science, Sofie Carsten Nielsen, sent the first 19 collections into the renaissance hall inside Børsen; a hall that beautifully framed the collections by the new fashion and textile designers from Design School Kolding who had the honour of opening the show.

The audience was able to experience, among others, Anna Nydam Sørensen’s collection Choosing my Religion, which moves in the interplay between religion and lifestyle, between pope worship and motorcycling. Many use religion as a lifestyle while others use lifestyle as a religion. Common factor: Passion creates value.

Also Louise Egebro showed a collection created in the interplay between religion and culture; more specifically a menswear collection inspired by Judaism and Masai warriors by highlighting their cultural effects.

This was the second year in a row that the fashion industry had the opportunity to meet graduating designers from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts - The School of Design, VIA Teko Design & Business, and Design School Kolding all under one roof.

19 designers specialising in fashion and textiles represented Design School Kolding:

Aja Skyum, Anna Nydam, Camilla Askholm, Ida Blomstrøm Nielsen, Kathrine Gram Hvejsel, Line Rosenlund Jensen, Lærke Marie Valum, Emilie Brinch, Louise Egebro, Nana Odderskær , Sally Laug, Ramona Reile, Maria-Louise Vagner Sørensen, Trine Ostenfeldt Møller, Pernille Pram Sax, Sandra Lynder Franck, Sanne Keil Sørensen, Karen Marie Christophersen and Solveig Stilling.
