The Beauty of the Crooked

Around one third of all vegetables are discarded before reaching consumers because they do not meet the standards that we, as a society and as consumers, have established. Using these rejected “ugly” vegetables as a starting point, the project explores how asymmetry, complexity, and irregularity can create jewellery with lasting aesthetic interest. Through the lens of aesthetic sustainability, I have developed two small jewellery collections for my own brand.
