Knøv

Knøv explores eelgrass, a bio-based material linked to Danish heritage and Læsø’s traditional seaweed roofs, reimagining it through contemporary design. Developed in collaboration with Søuld, which produces eelgrass-based acoustic panels, the project investigates how the material can be extended beyond its current applications through new production and manufacturing techniques. Through iterative material experimentation, Knøv takes the form of a chair inspired by Danish furniture traditions, with a focus on material honesty and craftsmanship. The project opens up new perspectives on bio-based materials and contributes to the discussion on sustainable design.
