FROM EVERYDAY OBJECT TO LUXURY
Second-hand clothes are the basis of Lili Uyen Thuy Pham's collection. She has wanted to use her background as a designer to shape and upcycle second-hand clothes, so they suddenly acquire a whole new value. Each garment in the final collection consists of fragments of clothes from the clothing store H&M combined with new materials. All items have been salvaged from thrift shops, and by adding the detailed craftsmanship of haute couture as draping and various kinds of print and embroidery, a surprising, novel and luxurious expression emerges.
