A series of 11 silhouettes each representing a decade in the history of feminism and women’s fashion is fashion designer Pernille Kaab’s suggestion for using clothing as a totally new medium. The Women’s Museum in Denmark has been the designer’s partner, and the whole project will be exhibited at The Women’s Museum in the summer of 2016.
"Every day we go out of the door we choose how we want to dress; we decide whether it is important for us what others think of our appearance, if we would like to appear in a certain way, whether we want to fit in or stand out. Therefore clothing is such an important part of every one’s daily life which we have to deal with on a daily basis. The aim of the exhibition isto reveal some of the invisible layers of the fashion history, which are often hidden in the glamorous pictures women have been shown throughout the 20th century. The exhibition is meant to foster interpretation, discussion or new experiences," says Pernille Kaab.
