Meet DigiHub Designer Syuan Yun Huang

What is your educational and/or professional background?
I'm currently studying two design master's programmes. One is the Design for People and Communication Design in Design School Kolding, and the other is Visual Communication Design in National Yunlin University of Science and Technology in Taiwan. My bachelor's degree is in Foreign Languages and Literatures at National Chung Hsing University in Taiwan. Also, I'm a visual design and visual art freelancer who enjoys diving into diverse design and creative challenges.

What is your role in DigiHub?
In my first project in DigiHub, I'm supporting the user interview, desktop research, and UX/UI design.

Tell us about a DigiHub project – current or completed.
We are currently working with Raptor to help build and improve their customer data platform panel and make it easier for their customers to onboard and use. We are interviewing different stakeholders and, in the meanwhile, learning about CDP and how the AI modeling behind it works.

What can businesses gain from working with DigiHub?
With the new insights from designers outside their company, the business could gain diverse input by design thinking and design methodology that we brought to them. Also, by involving student designers in the project, the company can get new creative blood and innovative perspective to tackle the problem from different angles.

What have you gained?
By working with a great senior designer and an open-minded customer from the project in Digihub, I got a chance to implement and transform the design methodology and technique into an actual case. Also, I learn how to facilitate and collaborate with clients under different situations and working cultures, which are fascinating and encouraging!

What has surprised you the most about working in DigiHub? 
I'm surprised by how the senior designer leads and guides me step by step during the process. For me, it's effective and engaging to learn by doing. Meantime, it's impressive that the customers are open-minded and flexible to the new design approach and input that brought by us. Overall, I'm amazed by how pleasant and motivating the remote working atmosphere and people in DigiHub!

What are you particularly interested in or inspired by at the moment?
I'm interested in and also inspired by how the project is well-managed and facilitated digitally and remotely. In addition, the flexibility and transparent communication that people show when facing different challenges is impressive. Besides, I enjoy learning how we can implement UX research and collaboration with our clients entirely online.

What role do you think design and designers will play in the future?
Under the fast-changing world and technology, design becomes crucial to help people and society cope with different challenges, explore solutions and possibilities. The powerful tools for designers thus become innovative design thinking and open-minded collaboration. Therefore, I think the designer will play as a facilitator, problem-solver, and pioneer in the future.
