What?
The club Fanzine. We want to use club fanzines not to create a physically safe space in the club, but as a tool to improve children's self-confidence and self-acceptance. It is a collective tool for better communication between children, pedagogues, and parents.  We are providing the club fanzine with a perfect toolkit for imperfect results. Rulers, frames, letter stamps, stickers, tapes.
The final proposal is reduced to a little A6 booklet that gathers all the creations of the kids. We designed an easy-to-produce guideline for pedagogues.

Why?
We chose to work with younger kids because we believe it is a more effective way to address any problems before they become a struggle in one’s life. They are both boys and girls from the Midtyklubben between the ages of 10-13 years old.

How? 
We wanted to know the people we are designing for. We wanted to learn their routines, interests and the challenges they face. That included 8 site visits, 5 workshops, 5 interviews.

“Kids are so afraid to make mistakes.” “There is a need for identity that stands out.” “The club culture is very important.” “Social media is very influential.”

How might we create a new club culture that embraces imperfection and free self-expression in an engaging way?

We created a messy workshop where our aim was to embrace imperfection through a fun activity and allow kids to create something collectively.We got inspired by a type of magazine called Fanzine, which is usually produced by amateurs as a form of entertainment. It is a helpful tool to share things with people who have the same interest. The most important thing about it is that it is so easy to make and everyone can make it!
