New setting, same people
Meet Elisabeth Lehner.
Design School Kolding is transforming. For this exciting transformation, the school has temporarily relocated from Aagade 10 to Dyrehavevej 116. While our setting has changed, the strong community and shared passion for design within Design School Kolding remains the same.
In the series “New setting, Same people”, members of the institution will give an insight into their part in this community. Today we give you Receptionist and Career Lab employee Elisabeth Lehner.
What inspires and/or fascinates you?
- Creative environments and my personal relations have inspired me throughout my career. But creativity and design are also important interests in my spare time, especially architecture, craftmanship and interior design. It also fascinates me how we all affect each other on so many levels and the difference you as an individual can make every single day. Therefore, I highly value and enjoy making an effort here at our school.
What is your background (what did you do before you got to Design School Kolding)?
When I joined the Design School Kolding in January 2019, it was based on my desire to combine my creative and commercial background in the fashion industry with having a more people-oriented aspect in my workday going forward. In the past, I worked for 15 years as a knitwear and accessories designer (10 years the Design House of SAND Copenhagen and 5 years for IC Company). More recently, I worked 6 years as a Product Manager for Ecco in Tønder.
What do you like most about working at Design School Kolding?
The versatility and creativity in our international environment. No two days are quite the same. I support our students in a strong cooperation with all my devoted colleagues, and I enjoy the feeling of assisting the future generations of international designers. I hope that their years at our school are a meaningful experience in every sense, and I consider it very important that the graduates feel it has been a solid stepping stone in their continuous career and life.
And what are you most excited about while the school is being transformed?
Our new location at Dyrehavevej 116 is surrounded by nature, which enables us to experience the outdoor facilities close to our work spaces, especially right now when the students also use the outside facilities as extra workspace. The experience of our location and the atmosphere based on this particular floor plan could also support our priorities or even inspire us in our ongoing transition of Aagade 10, since we learn and experience our location every day during this ongoing transformation process.
