New setting, same people
Meet Tommy Freudendal.
Design School Kolding is transforming. For this exciting transformation, the school has temporarily relocated. While our setting has changed, the strong community and shared passion for design within Design School Kolding remains the same.
In the series “New setting, Same people”, members of the institution will give an insight into their part in this community. Today we give you Property Service Technician Tommy Freudendal.
What inspires and/or fascinates you?
The harmony and joy there is between all staff and students, no matter where in the world they come from. The fantastic "relocation spirit" that was found everywhere in the house when we relocated to Dyrehavevej 116 and EVERYONE put on their "yes hat".
What is your background (what did you do before you got to Design School Kolding)?
Before I came to the Design School I worked as an interior consultant / department manager at the Kitchen Company HTH. For a number of years, I worked as department manager at the machine rental company Del-Pin A/S. I’m originally a trained woodworker/carpenter and I have worked as a manager at various construction sites throughout Denmark, Germany and Greenland.
What do you like most about working at Design School Kolding?
What I enjoy the most is the freedom to create an everyday life that is not the same from day to day, in collaboration with good colleagues and innovative and creative students.
What are you most excited about while the school is being transformed?
Getting back to "our" school and being part of building the school together. This will be a school that will stand for many years to come. However, the building itself is one thing – but what we put in it – the spirit and the atmosphere – that is what I look forward to being part of.
